Pushing B20 biodiesel next year is timely rain

According to today's Malaysian news, the former Minister of Industry Guo Suzhen pointed out that the Malaysian palm oil industry has experienced difficulties and encountered EU discrimination measures. Therefore, the B20 biodiesel plan to be implemented in the transportation industry next year is undoubtedly a timely rain.

She said that the cooperation with Malaysia's domestic oil companies is the key to promoting the B20 biodiesel program to upgrade the country's blending depots.

“The sooner we implement this plan, the sooner we can help reduce Malaysia’s (palm oil) stocks.”

She told reporters after attending the Malaysian Rubber Bureau meeting today that the implementation of the B20 biodiesel program is expected to boost the demand for palm oil to 500,000 tons per year.

Finance Minister Lin Guanying said in the 2020 budget that the plan will be implemented by the end of 2020.

Intended to consult with other departments

However, Guo Suzhen pointed out that since no funds were allocated for the plan, the department is negotiating with the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of International Trade and Industry, and the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs to clarify the matter.

"The discussion is still in progress."

In addition, she called on local companies to produce original products such as pepper and chocolate to launch attractive packages designed to increase demand.

“We will face a recession next year, so we have to develop more markets and add more downstream products.”
